On the morning of May 19, in Soc Trang province, Nha Be Garment Corporation - JSC (NBC) held a groundbreaking ceremony to build Nha Be Garment Factory - Soc Trang located in Ward 7, Soc Trang City.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Phạm Phú Cường, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nha Be Garment Corporation, stated: “The Nha Be Garment Factory – Soc Trang is a major project aimed at enhancing competitiveness, developing production and product consumption potential, increasing profits, creating jobs for local workers, and positively impacting the socio-economic development of Soc Trang Province.”
The Nha Be Garment Factory – Soc Trang project is being constructed on a 6-hectare area with a total investment of 300 billion VND, equipped with modern infrastructure and machinery. Once operational, the factory will provide employment for 4,000 workers.
The project is divided into two phases: Phase 1 will commence construction following the groundbreaking ceremony and begin operations in February 2018, creating jobs for 2,000 workers; Phase 2 will continue construction in 2019.
The factory will specialize in producing and trading high-quality garments such as suits, trousers, women’s fashion, and various fashion items. The factory’s production capacity is estimated at 25-30 million products annually, with an expected export turnover of approximately 90-100 million USD per year in its initial years.
According to Mr. Phạm Phú Cường, the operation of the Nha Be Garment Factory – Soc Trang will help provide jobs and stable income for workers in Soc Trang, ensuring their livelihoods. In the early years, workers’ salaries will be guaranteed at a minimum of 3 million VND per month; in subsequent years, wages will be based on output to encourage workers to produce more high-quality products. Initially, Nha Be Garment Corporation will manage the factory, but in the future, it will be handed over to the workers of Soc Trang Province to take charge.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Trần Văn Chuyện, Chairman of the Soc Trang Provincial People’s Committee, highly appreciated Nha Be Garment Corporation’s investment in constructing the factory in Soc Trang Province. Once operational, the factory will create jobs for thousands of local workers, providing an opportunity for Soc Trang’s workforce to earn a living and prosper on their homeland without having to migrate elsewhere.
At the same time, Chairman Trần Văn Chuyện also pledged to the factory’s leadership that the local authorities would provide favorable conditions for the corporation to complete the factory construction on schedule and put it into operation soon.
In addition, Mr. Chuyện also requested the leadership of Nha Be Garment Corporation to fulfill its commitments to the locality during the factory’s construction process as well as after it becomes operational.
